Lidia Książkiewicz is a pianist and organist Polish living in France. Born in 1977 in Poznan (Poland), she began studying piano at the age of five and organ at the age of twenty.

After graduating from the national academies of music in Bydgoszcz and Poznan where she won first prizes with honours in both piano, she also received a large number of awards at international competitions:

1st prize at the International Music Competition of the 20th Century in Warsaw (1994),

1st prize at the International Organ Rimini in Italy (2004),

winner of the International Organ Competition of Haarlem, Netherlands (César Franck, 2000) and the international competition Reger/Messiaen Graz (Austria) in 2003 .

She then moved to France and won the Grand Prix Florentz contest of the Academy of Fine Arts in the city d'Angers, then the 1st prize at the Conservatory of Saint-Maur for organ and the gold medal for harpsichord. In 2004 she was a finalist at the prestigious International Organ Competition of Chartres.

She has already performed in many countries including France, Poland, Luxembourg, Russia, Holland, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia, Albania, Denmark, Austria, Spain, Russia.

Besides her training as a pianist and organist, Lidia Książkiewicz has done extensive studies of pedagogy (National Diploma of Education in organ and piano) and has published a book on the contribution of piano technique to romantic organ repertoire.

As a soloist, she has worked with symphony orchestras in Slovakia and Poland. She has recorded for radio and television in Europe (Vienna - ORF, Warsaw - Polskie Radio, Tirana - TV1).

Lidia Książkiewicz currently organist of the Cathedral of Laon and teaches at the Conservatory and Academy of Music of Strasbourg.
