Informatie over de uitvoerende(n)

Sonja Gruys is actief als oprichtend lid van Disperata, ICOM, duo G&T en blaes-tuigh. Zij trad op in Spanje, de Verenigde Staten, Mexico, Tsjechië, Italië en Nederland. Zij studeerde blokfluit aan het Utrechts conservatorium en aan het koninklijk Conservatorium te Den Haag, waar zij het diploma tweede fase, of Master of Music behaalde. Sonja studeerde o.a. bij Sebastien Marq, Reine Marie Verhagen en Peter van Heyghen. Zij nam deel aan verschillende aanvullende cursussen over historische uitvoeringspraktijk in binnen- en buitenland.
Op het moment studeert Sonja zang bij Marjanne Kweksilber.

Jan Cizmar graduated in 2004 from the Conservatory of Brno, Czech Republic, where he studied guitar with Vladislav Bláha. In the same year he completed a degree in musicology at the Masaryk University of Brno. He then went to the Royal College of Music in London to study theorbo with Jakob Lindberg and classical guitar with Carlos Bonell. He took masterclasses with Christina Pluhar, Hopkinson Smith, Evangelina Mascardi, Mike Fentross and Nigel North, with whom is he currently studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. As a member of various ensembles he regularly performs around Europe, for example in Český Krumlov, Prague, Kiev, Krakow, Göttingen, Karlsruhe and London. He has also performed professionally as a rock guitarist in the Jesus Christ Superstar European tour as well as with Lindsay Kemp theatre company. He is founder and editor of the Czech guitar and lute magazine Kytara, a contributor to other musical periodicals, and works as a musical editor for several publishing houses including Bärenreiter.

Rebekah Ahrendt holds the First Phase Diploma in viola da gamba and the Certificate in Baroque Performance Practice from the Royal Conservatory for Music and Dance, The Hague, where she was a student from 1998 to 2002. She has performed as soloist and with ensembles in the United States and Europe. Her ensembles include Disperata, Kharabaja, the International Collective for Old Music (ICOM), and Les Violettes. Rebekah is currently a Ph.D. candidate in musicology at UC Berkeley where she specializes in the dissemination of the French style in the 17th and 18th centuries.
