Informatie over de uitvoerende(n)

Sungyun Cho started to play piano at the age of 5. She won the first prize in Korean Youth Musical Competition when she was 12 years old. When she was age of 15, she started to play organ with Prof. Kwak Dong-soon. She also studied church music and Organ and at the Yonsei University. She worked at Yonsei universty church as a vise-organist of Prof. Kwak. She was invited organ concert for young artists in 2002. She had lots of concerts as a camber musician and organist in Korea. After Graduation, she studied the harpsichord and got a master degree for harpsichord with Hee-jeong Kim from Yonsei University. Thesedays she is a Harpsihordist of Professional Baroque Ensemble Musica Glorifica and studying harpsichord and baroque music at the Royal Conservatory of Hague with Prof. Jacques Ogg. She performed at Fringe Concert of Utrecht Early Music Festival 2007, Concert Series of Klooster Kerk, Bezuidenhouts in Den Haag, Sacramentskerk in Breda. And she is participated in Buxtehdude relay concert at KC, Bussum, Amerongen. She is playing many various ensemble group and is invited by korea international early music festival 2008.

Michiyo Arai was born in Japan, studied the modern flute at the Tokyo College of Music and its graduate school. Her master's thesis whose theme was "How can we play the Baroque music with the modern flute?" was highly praised and appeared on the journal of Japan Flutists Association. After the graduate school, she worked at the college as a teaching assistant. During the graduate school, she started to study the traverso with Liliko Maeda, and came to the Netherlands to study with Barthold Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague in 2004. She has been invited to the Utrecht Early Music Festival (fringe concerts), and has had recitals in Japan. She has also played in many ensembles and orchestras such as Concerto d'Amsterdam. She is currently studying at the master course of the conservatory of the Hague with Barthold Kuijken and Wilbert Hazelzet.
